Why We’re Building Just Drugs

 

Just Drugs is a pharmacy we’re working to bring to our community.

​

We’re currently in the planning and funding stage of creating an independent pharmacy built around a simple belief: retail pharmacy can still be excellent, even within a complex and often frustrating system.

​

For many patients, the pharmacy counter is where confusion, delays, and tension show up most clearly—insurance issues, backorders, unclear pricing, and unanswered questions. Most of that frustration isn’t caused by indifference or incompetence. It’s caused by systems patients are rarely shown or taught to understand.

​

Just Drugs exists to change that relationship.

What We Believe

 

We believe patients deserve:

​

• Clear explanations, not vague answers

• Transparent pricing, not surprises

• Thoughtful care, even when systems are imperfect

​

We also believe most pharmacists and technicians want to practice with excellence—but are often constrained by volume, time pressure, and opaque reimbursement models.

​

Our goal is not to pretend retail pharmacy is easy.

Our goal is to practice it honestly, intentionally, and well.

​

This is where excellence aims to meet retail pharmacy.

Why a Newsletter Before a Pharmacy?

 

Before Just Drugs opens its doors, we’re starting with education.

​

This newsletter exists to:

​

• Explain why frustration happens at the pharmacy counter

• Help patients better navigate those moments and advocate for themselves

• Share transparent updates as we work toward opening Just Drugs

Whether or not you ever become a patient of our pharmacy, we believe understanding how pharmacy works empowers you to receive better care wherever you go.

No sales pitches. No hype. Just clarity, education, and progress.

What Just Drugs Will Be (and What It Won’t)

 

Just Drugs is being designed as:

• A high-volume, assembly-line pharmacy

• A marketing experiment

• A promise of perfection

We’re aiming for excellence—knowing that excellence requires honesty, humility, and constant refinement.
