Our Why

More than ten years ago, I had a simple goal: to open an independent pharmacy.

I was drawn to the idea of practicing pharmacy in a way that was personal, community-rooted, and built on trust—where the pharmacist knew the people they served and took time to explain, not just dispense.

During pharmacy school, that vision became more complicated.

As I learned more about how modern retail pharmacy operates, it became clear that independent pharmacies face growing challenges—rising administrative burden, opaque reimbursement models, and systems that often prioritize volume over care. Many pharmacies that once thrived as community anchors now struggle simply to stay open.

That realization didn’t erase the dream—it refined it.

Just Drugs exists because I believe independent pharmacy still matters, and because I believe it can be done differently: with transparency, ethical business practices, patient education, and a commitment to excellence even within real constraints.

This is not an attempt to recreate the past.

It is an effort to build a sustainable future—where independent pharmacy remains a viable, trusted part of community healthcare.

Created by a local pharmacist working to open an independent pharmacy focused on transparency and patient-first care.
